Stewardship

At Animal Welfare League, we believe that it is the responsibility of all animal owners in Ghana and all persons entrusted with animals to carefully manage or handle them by observing sound animal welfare standards. We recognize that the education of the people who work directly and indirectly with animals about animal welfare is crucial since they have the potential to positively affect the welfare of these animals.

Therefore, we provide education on animal welfare to veterinary and agriculture students, farmworkers, whole communities and the general public in Ghana through our animal welfare seminars, workshops, outreaches and media engagements. The education is to inform and improve existing knowledge on animal welfare among these important people working with animals.

By training professionals in animal welfare, we envision creating a network of stewards that will be advocating for animal welfare in their various workplaces.
