Role Summary
The Policy Officer leads the development and execution of AWL’s policy and advocacy agenda, ensuring campaigns are backed by strong research, legislative strategy, and stakeholder engagement.
Key Responsibilities
Develop and implement national animal welfare policy strategies and action plans
Draft policy briefs, petitions, position papers, and legislative proposals
Provide policy analysis and risk assessments for advocacy campaigns
Engage policymakers, regulators, and stakeholders to reform animal protection
Monitor animal welfare laws and regulatory frameworks
Key Requirements
Degree in Public Policy, Law, Political Science, or related field
3–5+ years experience in policy, advocacy, or public affairs
Strong understanding of legislative and policy processes in Ghana
Excellent writing, research, and stakeholder engagement skills
Experience in animal welfare or NGO advocacy (preferred)
