CALL FOR VOLUNTEERS

Across Africa, billions of farmed chickens and fish live and die out of sight. We're working to change that, and we'd love your help.

The Animal Welfare League has a clear mission to improve farm animal welfare across Africa.

Our focus is on chickens and fish, the most numerous and often most overlooked farmed animals. Currently, we run projects in Ghana, the Kingdom of Morocco, the Republic of South Africa, and the Arab Republic of Egypt, with new countries on the horizon.

Why we need you

Volunteers are at the heart of everything we do. From research and outreach to advocacy, communications, and on-the-ground project support; our work simply isn't possible without people who care enough to give their time.

We welcome anyone who:

  • Cares about animals — especially the farmed chickens and fish whose suffering often goes unseen.

  • Is ready to take action — even small, consistent steps add up to real change.

  • Brings an open mind — no prior experience in animal welfare or advocacy is required.

  • Communicates kindly and respectfully — with teammates, partners, and the public.

  • Can commit a few hours — whether weekly or occasionally, your time is valued.

  • Believes in collective impact — and wants to be part of a growing movement across Africa.
